As a Car Infotainment Framework Engineer at 42dot, your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain middleware for Automotive services. You will focus on creating robust framework components for an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system based on Android Automotive OS (AAOS). These components are crucial elements of the 42dot Software Defined Vehicle OS and its innovative infotainment systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain middleware for Automotive services, with a focus on IVI systems for Android Automotive OS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate middleware into the vehicle OS architecture, ensuring compatibility and compliance with standards.
• Test, debug, and provide ongoing support for the middleware while staying updated on automotive tech advancements for innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in Android development
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin
• Proficiency in C/C++ and JNI
• Hands-on experience in Android Framework
• Hands-on experience in Android Media Framework
• Comprehensive understanding of the Android platform
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL)
• Experience working native C/C++ libraries (Android NDK)
• Hands-on experience working with Android build system and toolchain
• Proficiency in utilizing modern Android libraries, frameworks, and tools
• Knowledge of design patterns and best practices in Android development
• Knowledge and experience in the Android automotive and in-vehicle infotainment domain
